Vision
We see the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) and Christian Reformed World Missions (CRWM) Bangladesh staff vigorously participating in Spirit-led mission with churches and other Christian organizations throughout the world so that together, we are proclaiming the Gospel to more and more people who have not heard it, healthy churches are emerging, and the Kingdom of God is advancing in Bangladesh.
Mission
The CRWM Bangladesh Team exists to glorify God by leading the CRCNA to respond obediently to our Lord’s commission to witness to the Good News of God’s Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.
Ministry in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a country characterized by great physical, economic, and spiritual need. CRWM partners with the Christian Reformed World Relief Bangladesh/India team in its work with Christian partner development agencies to promote holistic ministries among the poor. CRWM and CRWRC work together in Bangladesh to develop healthy organizations that recognize and bear witness to Christ’s lordship in every area of life, so that holistic transformation will occur in the lives of individuals and communities.
Jeff serves on the faculty at the College of Christian Theology Bangladesh (CCTB). The College of Christian Theology Bangladesh is an interdenominational, evangelical graduate and post-graduate degree granting institution supported by over 25 Christian organizations and national church bodies. CRWM helps develop Bangladeshi Christian leaders by instructing students and assisting in CCTB’s development and administration departments.
We have four ministry areas in Bangladesh:
Forming Leaders through Formal Theological Education:
Through our presence at the college, we hope to support Bangladeshi leaders, build the capacity of CCTB and other theological institutions, and provide Reformed input into the theological training of Bangladeshi church leadership. Jeff assists in the administration of programs, organizes seminars, and promotes curriculum development. He also teaches Masters level courses (in English), Bachelors of Theology and diploma level courses (in Bangla), and consults with Theological Education by Extension (TEE) groups.
Developing Values Formation Programming:
Jeff assists CRWRC-Bangladesh/India in developing values formation materials and facilitating leadership training workshops. Our goals are to have CRWRC and partner staff better trained in integrating word and deed ministry in Bangladesh contexts, equip staff to minister to their ministry partners, and offer them pastoral support.Jeff also implements Timothy Leadership Training (TLT) workshops in coordination with CRWRC partners and CCTB affiliated churches.
Strengthening Libraries:
Jeff supports and supervises CCTB library staff, helps acquire equipment and resources, and ensures that students are skilled in using the library. At CRWRC’s resource library, Melissa offers research strategy training and helps with cataloguing and maintenance so that partner staff and others can access information and resources. CRWM also collaborates with other organizations to get books and library equipment for other Bangladeshi theological institutions.
Connecting and Supporting Churches:
CRWM connects with Reformed churches in South Asia to explore partnership and leadersthip training possibilities. Jeff works and links with CRWRC partners, CCTB affiliated churches/organizations, and other local and international networks to promote a vision for integral mission in Bangladesh. Together, Jeff and Melissa connect CRCNA individuals and congregations with churches and ministries in Bangladesh to link resources with the needs, create service-learning and volunteer opportunities, and connect the CRCNA with ministries in Bangladesh.
