VISION
God called us both from opposite sides of the world to serve in Tijuana, Mexico on January 9, 2008 as a Church Developers. James was born in South Korea, but grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Los Angeles, California where he developed a love for Spanish speakers. Barbara (aka “Barbarita”) served several summers in Yucatan, Mexico through I.D.E.A. Ministries where she learned the Spanish language and developed a passion for Mexico. For the past ten years, God has brought us through several short-term mission trips to Mexico. He also graciously allowed us both to graduate from Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College) with Bachelors in Missions. James continued Mission study obtaining a Masters in Missions at Calvin Theological Seminary, and Barbara completed nursing studies. Together with our son Joshua Jae-Min, we believe that the Lord will continue to equip us as a family to witness to the Good News of God’s Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.

MISSION
Our mission is to “Live, Learn, Light, and Love.” Live: living among the people and working together with them we hope to show God’s love through our actions and words. Learn: learning the culture, history, language, food, music, ideas, wisdom, and faith will show the love of Christ. Light: serving and supporting Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ. Love: loving people through God’s creation and redemption in Jesus Christ.
MISSION WORK
We are partners with the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Tijuana, Mexico. We mainly work in church planting, leadership training, and discipleship. For the past year, we have been working with a mission church called Dios Altisimo (God on High). We are involved in teaching the Bible, marriage counseling and Bible study, children’s ministry, praise team, visitation and preaching. Recently a national pastor was called to serve this church. We are working as a team for the next six months after which the national pastor will take over and we will go to a new mission to start over with a new plant.
At a Christian drug and alcohol rehab center where there are often 80-100 men James has been serving as a ministry strategist consultant leading Bible studies, discipleship, counseling, and mentoring the men and leaders at the center.
We are also involved occasionally in various ministries such as: orphan care, health ministry, hospitality ministry, street evangelism, hosting mission teams, and more.
