VISION
We see the CRCNA and CRWM Bangladesh staff vigorously participating in Spirit-led mission with churches and other Christian organizations throughout the world so that together we are proclaiming the gospel to more and more people who have not heard it, healthy churches are emerging and the Kingdom of God is advancing in Bangladesh.


MISSION
The CRWM Bangladesh Team exists to glorify God by leading the CRC to respond obediently to our Lord’s commission to witness to the Good News of God’s Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.


MISSION WORK
Bangladesh is a country characterized by great physical, economic, and spiritual need. CRWM partners with the Christian Reformed World Relief Bangladesh/India team in its work with Christian partner development agencies to promote holistic ministries among the poor.

CRWM and CRWRC are working together in Bangladesh to develop healthy organizations that recognize and bear witness to Christ’s Lordship in every area of life, so that holistic transformation will occur in the lives of individuals and communities.

CRWM staff also serve on the faculty at the College of Christian Theology Bangladesh (CCTB). The College of Christian Theology Bangladesh is an interdenominational, evangelical graduate and post-graduate degree granting institution supported by over 25 Christian organizations and national church bodies. By instructing students and assisting in the development and administration at CCTB, CRWM is working to develop Christian leaders.

We are currently working in four main areas:

Forming Leaders through Formal Theological Education:
CRWM missionaries assist with new curriculum development and administration, as well as providing direct instruction of theological courses to CCTB. Through our presence at the college, we hope to support the national leadership and build capacity of CCTB and other theological institutions, while also providing Reformed input into the theological training of Bangladeshi church leadership.

Jeffrey assists in the administration of CCTB programs, organizes seminars and promotes new curriculum development. He also teaches M.A. level courses (English), B.Th. and diploma level courses (Bangla), and consults with Theological Education by Extension (TEE) groups.

Developing Values Formation Programming:
CRWM missionaries also assist CRWRC-Bangladesh/India in developing values formation materials and facilitating leadership training workshops. The goal of our work together is to have CRWRC and partner staff better trained in integrating word and deed ministry in Bangladesh contexts through a Kingdom world and life view, to equip them to minister to those with whom they work, and to support them pastorally.

Jeffrey is implementing Timothy Leadership Training (TLT) with CRWRC partners and affiliated churches. He is also developing business ethics and creation care training modules for CRWRC partners.


Strengthening Libraries:
CRWM missionaries work to improve the CCTB library infrastructure and usage, and are assisting CRWRC in the ongoing cataloguing and maintenance of its resource library. CRWM collaborates with other organizations to acquire books and library equipment for theological institutions in Bangladesh.

Jeffrey gives support and supervision to CCTB library staff, assists in the acquisition of equipment and resources, and ensures that students are skilled in library use. Melissa assists CRWRC in research training, cataloging and circulation so that partner staff and others can access information and resources.


Connecting and Supporting Churches:
CRWM participates in local networks and movements that promote the above strategies. CRWM missionaries connect CRCNA individuals and congregations with churches and ministries in Bangladesh to link resources with the needs, create service-learning and volunteer opportunities, and connect the CRCNA with ministries in Bangladesh.

Jeffrey connects with Reformed churches in South Asia to explore possibilities for partnership and to extend leadership training. He also networks with CRWRC partners, CCTB affiliated churches/organizations, Micah Network members, and Disciple Nations Alliance to promote a vision for integral mission in Bangladesh. Melissa communicates with supporting churches through newsletters and email; she also promotes specific projects and coordinates volunteers.
