Our pastor just announced she/he will be leaving/retiring. Now what do we do?

Now is a good time to honor the ministry of your pastor. Plan a party or a farewell of some kind. Then take some time to reflect on the needs of your congregation and what sort of pastor would be able to serve those needs. If your pastor was with you for a long time then it might be wise to consider hiring a Specialized Transitional Minister (STM) to help you think about next steps.
